The peristaltic pump consists of a housing containing a flexible hose, with a rotor in the center of the housing equipped with at least two pressure rollers. The rollers continuously compress the hose, ensuring suction and discharge of fluid during rotation. This simple system makes the pump self-priming, and since there is no rotating seal, it can run dry.
Performance is guaranteed by the reinforced rubber hose which is at the heart of the principle. The housing is filled with a lubricant that facilitates the sliding of the two rollers on the hose, or the hose is lubricated. In this configuration, the rollers are replaced by bearings.
